The Bès-Bédène Priory is perched on the ridge of a meander in the Selves, surrounded by a circle of fractured granite. The wild beauty of this narrow promontory has drawn a community of monks since the Middle Ages. Visit the part-Romanesque priory and gracious Rouergue houses nearby. A 14th-century bridge stands strong over the Selves, while, at the end of the rocky spur, are mysterious stone rocks. This natural feature, god-given to so contemplative a place, was long thought to be a dolmen.
