We’ve probably got the answer even for the most intrepid!
Perhaps the most daring of all is to holiday in the treetops. Well, not literally in so far as you don’t actually sleep in the trees, but you can spend the day doing tree acrobatics (‘Accrobranche’ in French) up to 10 metres above the ground!
Again, if you’ve got a head for heights, why not go rock-climbing? There are a number of places for beginners through to keen rock-climbers throughout the Lot Valley.
Prefer to have your feet more firmly on the ground - or, more accurately, your feet in the water? Try your hand at white water rafting. The River Lot flows broad and gentle, but that does not mean it doesn’t have its moments of turbulence.
Wish you could float above it all? Then go hot-air ballooning in what are idyllic conditions, soaring over spectacular scenery like one of our myriad species of birds.
Check out our two 'high-living'
holiday suggestions below.

This is an unbelievably thrilling, challenging adventure holiday for all - with friends, as a group or as a family (children must be at least 1m10 tall - that’s about 3’7”). Imagine the sense of achievement when you surpass yourself 10m high above the ground among the treetops. It’s certainly different from anything else you’ve ever done. There are three challenge courses altogether: The ‘discovery course’ for children over 1m10 and adults: with over a dozen workshops to teach them how to stretch themselves, and to help develop agility and balance. The ‘thrilling course’ for persons at least 1m40 (about 4’7”) tall: experience the excitement of playing games 10m above ground! And, lastly, the ‘quake-in-your-trainers’ aptly describing the longest, highest and most difficult course with 26 different games and ending with an incredible 135m long ‘toggle rope’ walk. The acrobatic park is located just outside La Canourgue heading towards the Gorges du Tarn.
There’s a choice of accommodation - 2-star hotels, quality chambres d’hôtes (French-style B&Bs) and chalets - all well located for visiting local sites.
