Because the Lot flows diagonally across France, most motorways heading from the Channel Ports in northern or western France lead directly to or connect with those leading to the area (A75, A20, A62). The motorway journey from, say, Calais could take from about 7h30 into the heart of the Valley (keeping to the legal limits!).

And why not break your journey by stopping en route at Futuroscope Theme Park? Futuroscope is in Western France near Poitiers, and it's France's most exciting theme park!

Designed by Sir Norman Foster, the new viaduct across
the Tarn Gorge on the A75 (near Millau) opened in December 2004.

International Airports in/close to the area: at Rodez, Bergerac, Toulouse, as well as Montpellier, Bordeaux and Nîmes.
