This is the source of the Lot, set 1,272 metres in the schist landscape of the Goulet mountains at the Chap d’Uolt (‘Head of the Lot’ in Occitan), near Le Bleymard. Find the Lot at its birthplace along a way marked path through spruce plantations dotted with gentian and wild raspberries, briar and birch. Follow the river to the confluence of the Lot and the Combe stream at Le Bleymard where a peaceful priory and Romanesque church watch over the landscape.
