The Upper Lot Valley offers quite a choice of winter sports, with cross-country (ski de fond) and snow-walking (raquettes) being the most widely practised. You can go snowblading too or let husky dogs do all the work and lead you through the hillsides in a sleigh. There’s downhill (‘ski alpin’) too at certain resorts.

With the highest average altitude in France, the Lozère rapidly gets snowy in winter. While it’s cold outside, the atmosphere in the local inns, hotels or rural gîtes will certainly keep you warm. On the vast Aubrac plateau, winter snows provide a magical terrain for snow-walking.

Station du Bleymard
In the heart of the Cévennes National Park, this ski station offers 20km of cross-country skiing and 8km of alpine ski pistes for all levels. Snowblading, snow-walking and sleighs are also available.
